Ceylon Black Pepper

Ceylon Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) is a spice that is commonly used in cooking for its sharp aroma and spicy flavour. Harvested from pepper vines, the tiny fruits in their almost-ripe state, are then dried to yield the spice in its black, spherical peppercorn form. Sri Lankan pepper contains high amounts of piperine, the compound that gives pepper its unique taste.


Black pepper is the most used spice in the food industry due to its rich, peppery taste and its many health benefits. Since it improves digestion and weight loss, it is used in a lot of cuisines around the world ranging from savory to sweet dishes. In the bakery and confectionery products, snacks and comfort food, frozen products, sauces and dressings are other areas in the food industry black pepper is used in. Black pepper is also added to lipid-containing food to stop food from deteriorating through off-falvours, aromas or color degradation. 


Due to its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial features, it is used in the cosmetics and personal care industry mainly in creams and oils. It’s used mostly as an essential oil diluted to water, to apply on the skin. It’s also used in bath scrubs and soaps as it is an excellent exfoliator. It is also used as aromatherapy to improve digestion. It also treats various health issues such as vitiligo thus, it is also used in the pharmaceutical industry.


Moreover, herbs and spices have been used not only for the preservation of foodstuff s and beverages but also for maintaining the flavor, color and aroma of food products for centuries

Black pepper is available in standard packing in new single jute bags of 25Kg net each. Other sizes available upon request

काली मिर्च (Piper nigrum) एक मसाला है जो आमतौर पर अपनी तेज सुगंध और तीखे स्वाद के लिए खाना पकाने में उपयोग किया जाता है। काली मिर्च की लताओं से निकाले गए और लगभग पके हुए इसके छोटे फलों को फिर सुखाया जाता है जिससे मसाला अपने काले, गोलाकार पेपरपॉर्न रूप में आ जाता है। श्रीलंकाई काली मिर्च में उच्च मात्रा में पिपेरिन होता है, यह एक ऐसा यौगिक है जो काली मिर्च को इसका खास स्वाद देता है।
